Ros completed his PhD thesis at the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG) in 2014, under the supervision of Dr Carleton Jones. It was entitled 'Exchange in Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Age Ireland: Connecting people, objects and ideas'. Ros is particularly interested in prehistoric exchange, ritual, violence, social organisation, social change, and ontologies (world views).
Ros has directed and worked on numerous archaeological excavations in Ireland, Britain, France, Italy, Romania and Lesotho. While undertaking his PhD, at NUI Galway, Ros was head tutor for 1st year undergraduates and he regularly lectures to students at other levels. Ros is a director of ASP Ltd, a full member of the Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland (IAI) and has served on the board of the IAI in several capacities. He is currently (2018) covering maternity leave as an Assistant lecturer in Archaeology at IT Sligo.
